My name is Tim and I do lots of stuff. I'm a versatile, professional freelance living in Brooklyn, New York and working in media.
About Me
I'm perpetually a student. I love learning. I love doing. I love creating. I'm an audio engineer, web and graphic designer, teacher, fan of sketching, cycling commuter, screen printer and an Apple geek.
Why so many different things? Do I have too many hobbies? There's no such thing. I love everything that I do. I bring the same level of passion and commitment to everything that I work on.
Audio Engineering and Acoustics
From tracking and mixing, to foley, ADR and sound design I'm a well rounded audio engineer who's versed in the worlds of music production and audio post. In addition to working directly with recording studios and post houses, I've leant my talents to several albums, television shows and movies.
I also have a background in designing and constructing acoustic solutions for studios both big and small. I've created everything from custom absorbers to completely floated, sound isolated spaces. Currently I'm teaching a class on Acoustics at my alma mater, SAE Institute of New York.
Web Design
Before entering the world of audio engineering, I attended The Art Institute of Philadelphia, majoring in Multimedia and Web Design and before that, I took an intensive 3 year Graphic Design program through my high school's vocational facility.
While I do code my own websites, (and pride myself on my strict adherence to web standards) I find my best design work starts with a good old pencil and a piece of paper. I'm a visual problem solver. I design user experiences, not just simple cookie cutter pages. I strive to create pixel perfect websites made personally for my clients based on their needs.
iOS Development
I recently took a course in iOS development and used what I learned there to create Spot Saver, an iPhone app to help you keep track of where you parked your car. It's very useful in the city, especially when you have to keep track of alternate side parking! I also recently created an iPad app for Duotone Audio Group to use as a presentational tool for a sonic brand identity campaign they were working on. I hope to continue learning Objective C and developing for such an amazing platform.
Everything Else
What else is there? Well I also have some basic experience with photography and video editing. I've never found an area of media that I wasn't willing to learn about and give my all. I pride myself in being able to find simple solutions to complex issues. Not sure if I'm your guy? Just give me a shout and I'll let you know how I can help you out with your project.
